Does anyone here know of a website or place I can buy case studies of seo experiments where certain factors are compared and the results are given. For example an .com domain outperforms a .info all things equal, etc.

  • you can find it here warriors
  • Dude I want it all in one place like a blog with experiment after experiment or a pdf. etc. Here you need to search and to each question 5 people say and 5 people say no.

    • I appreciate your answer but Im looking for an actual website with comparisons. The websites found by google in the searched you suggested , do not have this.

    • I second that......few months back profile links were working great..now they are dead and so does the wiki links
  • Hi misha7878,

First, let me clarify a couple things for you.

Case studies are anecdotal in nature, and as such they're good for gaining insights into your data statistics. However you cannot make accurate conclusions from case studies, unless they involve valid testing methods. You need empirical evidence for that kind of information.

Second point is to the specific example you cite. Search engines do not use domain extensions as a ranking factor, with the notable exception for Country Code extensions on localized results. So you won't find any credible case studies that illustrate a difference that doesn't exist.

If you are looking for a good website that does marketing experiments, not SEO per se, but certainly useful information, checkout MarketingExperiments.com for lots of credible scientific based case studies. I am sure that you can hire them to perform case studies as needed if they are related to marketing experiments and not just cargo cult science.

    • If a site like this existed, it would get huge traffic.

The study results would have to be constantly coming in and current though (probably any results over a month old wouldn't be too trustworty) , as previous test results under old algorithms may not be accurate.

      Interesting thought.
  • MarketingExperiments.com is a great website. Thanks for the recommendation. If anyone else knows something similiar I would love to hear about it

    Thanks dburk
