Reseller account key to building your own private network?

If I'm wanting to build several sites for SEO purposes like a private network. Is it OK to host them all under the same account? Or does this look bad to Google?

If I need to diversify hosts would it be the best option to own a reseller account? With a reseller every new account I set up has a different IP address...

I don't think every new account necessarily has a new IP.

It depends on how many you are doing. Personally, I wouldn't put more than 5 on the same IP.

Personally I think 5 is a little high, I would put max 2 on the same IP, although it depends how large your network is and how many domains link to each client obvious.

When a client get's links from all your 100 domains for example I would stick to 2, but if all clients get max 20 links out of 100 domains you could easily put 5 per IP imo.

When you say different IP... is it a different C or D class IP? To do what you want you will need diverse C-Class IPs, meaning the 3rd block from the left should be unique like:

    125.548.125.125
    65.548.368.121

The bolded numbers is the C block and those need to be unique from each other!

A reseller account will not provide you with unique C-class IP's.

You can put multiple sites on the same IP if you want, but I would not have any of them linking to the same places at all.

I build websites for a clients in a certain niche market which also happens to be a market I sell physical products in. Each site I build for a customer and host I have my link at the bottom (Site hosted by...) with my keyword in the anchor pointing to my money site. Is that a bad idea?

It's more ethical question, I think if your keyword doesn't suit to general site theme - it's a bad idea.

There are more elegant ways of accomplishing what you are trying to do.

The best-made plans almost always involve a strategic schematic (careful planning) and are sometimes more costly but worth it. If you are serious about your business, it's best to optimize it from the beginning. Set it up the right way (for you and your clients), and you'll not regret it later.

Btw, if I were your client, I would insist on the removal of your 'hosted by' link ... unless you were Wikipedia or Google

I would be extremely careful with a private blog network unless you consider yourself an expert on anonymity. i'm somewhat of a newb, but i've heard this is no easy feat.
