New page content - how to maximise for seo?

Hey,

I have a page that's ranking pretty well for a fairly competitive keyword, however the copy is pretty shoddy, so I've got some new content written up for it.

What's the best way to replace this content without hurting my rank?

Note:
All the on page SEO factors will remain.

Thanks,

Sam

Just do a complete rewrite but better. If the copy is good then it will naturally have the keywords you want optimised.

Your content should be fresh and quality one with keywords in it. Since top quality content will be easily crawled and indexed in search engines and your site get benefited.

Its better to conduct a B/B split testing before replacing the content. If your content pass the test replace it otherwise adopt the suggestion of Google website optimizer.

I think you should not post content in one single step you can post half content first and then remaining content in other time so that you can test changes in your website's keywords ranking before replacing whole content.
