PR3 site expiring

i have found a local domain that is expiring and it is a page rank 3. it has expired on the 18th of march and i guess the owner still has pending rights to purchase. how do i make certain that i purchase this? it is a legit company and they are definitely in business and planning to stay in business. How do i make certain that i can purchase the domain(and maintain the page rank, as well as stay away from competing with other auctioneers that are looking at the pr3 and good links) if the owner doesn't renew it on time

    • You say it's a local domain. Does it actually include a business name? If so, it's probably copyrighted and this would prevent you from using it anyway.

      It's likely the business owner has simply not realized it's due for renewal, and I've read a few similar reports recently where this has happened and the business owner has demanded the return of his copyrighted URL.

      If it doesn't include the actual name of a business, then it should be fair game for you to pick up. Just check carefully, because businesses often register copyrights on close matches to their registered name.

    What is significant about the 30th?
  • By declaring in a public forum (in writing) that "they are definitely in business and planning to stay in business" ... you may have a problem from the original owner if they attempt to redeem their interest, put two and two together, and find out who you are. Just sayin'.
