Help...where did my site go on google?

Hey...still learning about SEO and Google, but my site has always been one of the first 4 sites on page 1 of Google for about a month now including yesterday. Specifically for the search term "pringles coupons". I searched the term today and bam...I'm gone! My site is similar to the others that show up for that search term so why mine vanished and not the others boggles me. Can anyone help? I don't even know what page I'm on in the search results. I checked the first 10 pages and nothing. Google webmaster tools tells me I rank 4.6 for that search term from Mar 1 - Mar. 30. How do I get back on page 1? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

There is a Panda update that has been rolling out since last week. Likely your site may have been caught up in that.

This happens quite frequently to new sites. What is your site's age? If it is not more than 6 months old, this may be just the Google dancing happening to your site. It's something almost every site has to go through before establishing in the SERPs firmly.

I recommend you make a search on Google for site:yoursite.com and see whether it is still indexed or not. If yes, don't panic, just add some new fresh content and build backlinks both to the home page and the inner pages on your site and your site should get back quickly.

Yes my site has only been up since Jan. this year and is still indexed on google. I will be adding some content this weekend again. Thanks for the tips. I'm open to more suggestions if they are out there.

What is the whole Panda thing and how do I know if I'm victim to that?

      Cheers,

If the site you're talking about is the pringles coupon one..you're going to have to do *a lot* better than that in regards to quality. That's the definition of thin affiliate site.

Hi linkbuildr...yes I realize it's thin, but wouldn't you agree that the competition I'm dealing with (such as the .com version - not mine) is also thin. Should my site not bounce back to the first page based on the other results you see for "Pringles Coupons"? This is my first site and I'm learning a lot and appreciate all the feedback.

Just because your competition's sites are thin, doesn't mean that you can get away with thin content yourself. 10 great sites pop up and you're all gone. Don't be part of the pack, stand out and be better than them.
