"Scrapebox + Virtual Assistant" VS "Automated Software + Spun Content" Who would win?

With BMR and other networks going down many SEOs are looking at alternative ways to build backlinks. Assuming we have quality content on our site, plus a variety of 20+ web 2.0 sites with quality content pointing to our site. Which method do you think would work best for the next phase of backlinking?

1. Scrapebox + Virtual assistant building links manually with unique posts (no spun content).

2. Automated software like senukex, xrumer, magic submitter + spun content.

    It's all about the one pushing the buttons.

    Personally I would combine option 1 with a few different blog networks and spun content. That is exactly what I do with the packages that I offer and the results are awesome.

    I'm not much of a fan of senuke and such. Magic Submitter is nice cause you can customize it but it has a bit of a learning curve and just takes ages to keep up with all of it and throw xrumer overboard right away.

      You would still use blog networks even after what has been going on the last few weeks?

        I see no reason to stop. In my package I use 5 different blog networks, and people who just have been hit by networks (cause they only focussed on 1) come to me asking to rank their sites. Then I do what I'm good at and everyone is happy again.
