link from reported attack site

I have a link that I did not create and don't know who did from a site that when visited displays the reported attack site warning.

Is this going to be a big problem? What would you do about it if you were me?

Thanks

Nick

  • I wouldn't worry about it. Unless most or a significant number of your links look like this, it will probably never be a problem.
  • Yeah thats what I thought. Thanks for the reassurance. I suppose it is just one of those things.

It seems to only be the 1 link out of 100,000's so I won't lose any sleep over it.
  • google shows you its reported attack site or your antivirus?
  • It's my antivirus.

    • then you don't need to worry about that.
  • Looks like everyone here has it covered. In the past, inbound links have not had any negative effects to your site's authority in Google's eyes. Now it looks like Google is shining a brighter light on questionable linkbuilding. If you have other links, then this link won't matter much. But if you see a ton of these links, and you have no other authoritative links then there could be an issue.

For sites with a diverse link profile, links like that just won't be counted.
