I submitted my website to just two directories and when i checked Google webmaster tool --> links to your site section it shows those two directories with links as 130 and 110. I'm confused here is those links the number of times someone clicked on my site through those directories or number of times google bot crawled? I thought directory links are one way links but how come 130 and 110 link from two directories. I'm really confused here...if someone can explain it'd be of great help for me

Hmmmm... that is pretty strange. In Google Webmaster, they show you the number of links from that site to your site (not how many times someone has clicked on that link).

Here's what I think happened: When you put your website onto the directory, you gave the directory tags/keywords for your website. So now your website shows up on all of the "Tag pages" of the directory.

For example, you could have a link from directory.com/tag1, directory.com/tag2, directory.com/tag3, etc.

Still, 130 seems like quite a few links, so that is weird!

It could be that the directory tags your site, so it creates alot of tags on different categories or they have a section for the "recent added site" and this section shows on alot of their pages so Google picked up the links

Zaco was spot on. I checked the directory and they have recently added site field in all pages maybe because of it i got 100s of links. Thanks for the response.
