How i should remove low quality pages from my site. I have 47 pages on my website out of those i think 5 pages are of low quality. If i delete them, my ranking will fall. So what should i do?

Should i do 301 permanent redirect to home page or any other page which is similar to those 5 pages.

Due to poor content on those 5 pages, quality penalize me and my traffic fall by 50%.

Thanking you, your help will be appreciated.

I think the best way is stop cache/indexing all those pages with robots.txt.

    That doesn't make any sense.

First what's your proof that 5 low quality pages knocked out 50% of your traffic? I doubt you can prove that, If that 50% traffic is from the SERPs.

Second, If those 5 pages knocked out 50% of your traffic then why are you worried about your SERP position, you must have fallen in the SERPs already, so delete the pages, the damage would already be done.

Still, I'm sure you can't prove that 5 low quality pages hurt your traffic by 50%, assumes that's all SERP traffic.

Again, the entire issue doesn't make any sense.

    Hello Yukon,

Your response looks good to me. Let me explain you in more detail, my home page was ranking 1 in weight loss niche and several other long tail keywords. However, primary keyword is on 2nd keyword an other long tail keywords have fallen to bottom of page.

I asked Google 3 times for re consideration, last time they responded that few pages of my site are of low quality. So i guess those pages are only hurting ranking for home page. However, those 5 pages were not ranking good when primary keyword was number 1 spot in Google.

I don't want to disclose the url on public forum, if you prefer i can pmb you.
