I've been doing PPC for a long time.

They used to give you GREAT quality score of the bat, and if your site wasn't set up right, they'd SLAP you into "OK" or Poor.

But now I really can't get any new land pages to get GREAT, besides my campaigns that have been going on for a long time.

A few things that I've tried on my subpage are:

Backlinks
Subpages
Keywords in teh image descriptions
Image file names with keywords
Priv Policy at bottom
Contact us at bottom
Meta Tags and Titles with Keywords

Basically, I dont see how I cannot be getting a GREAT QS on this page. yet -- I am only getting a 7/10 .. and on some terms a measly 5/10

Is it possible to get GREAT stuff in a campaigns infancy anymore?

one of the factors involved with QS is account history... it may be that your account's history has had just enough "hiccups" that the big G won't give you that high QS.

    True.
    Well that is depressing news.

But I've paid them about 40k in the last year or so.

And I have a campaign that has all GREAT scores... so I assume that must be something positive..

If you set up MCC, you should be able to create a new account and start over. Might be worth trying to see if it's just a history problem.

it's just a managed account, you can open more than one account and link them up to your first one... but you need to ask for permission first.

It's 'My Client Center', a console for folks who manage multiple AdWords accounts. If you need to have multiple accounts for some reason, MCC gives you a way to consolidate them, and also lets Google know that the accounts are related.

In order to get the most you have to make sure that all keywords through out your account have good CTR .

Keyword --> Ad --> Landing Page. Consider using php to dynamically change some of of the text in your landing pages to the keywords in your adgroup.

Everything must relevant all the way through. Are you using 1 keyword per adgroup?

I can get 8/10 or 9/10 with a simple landing 'site' that includes subpages - terms of use, privacy policy, contact us, and relevant articles linking back to the main landing page. It's also worth linking out to wikipedia or a similar authority site.

Maybe consider using wordpress for your landing site - Google loves em.

Look for the top 5 spots in the serps for your keyword and then link out to them. Should give you a bit of a qs boost. Google likes to see useful resource links on the page.
