Is PPC Still Good For Affiliate Marketing?

Hey everyone,

I'm pretty new to Affiliate Marketing. I've been doing 100% SEO on my websites, and was thinking about going into PPC. What do you think about PPC these days? Is it still possible to make good money doing it? I was told that "it is nowhere near the same as it used to be. It's so different that I might as well not even do it. Instead, focus on SEO and Siloing." Is this true? I'm not exactly sure on this, but I think years ago that's where the huge profits came from was PPC. I wanted to explore something new like PPC or maybe even E Commerce, but I want to know first if anyone is having any success with PPC in this new era.

Thanks,

Joshua Brown

There's plenty of money in PPC. The only reason it's harder is you need to be a bit more skillful with quality scores in order to succeed, and you'll need to understand your compliance on AdWords to avoid a ban. The AdWords bans are the reason most people seem to think it's dead. But really, Google is just eliminating duplicate content, which most thin affiliate sites are. There are a lot of ways around that however.

Your money is probably best spent trying it out yourself. Especially on AdCenter, where you'll get a good idea of how things work in a competitive market with quality scores in play, without having to worry about lifetime bans. Expect to lose some money, especially early, but you'll learn WAY more than by giving your money to gurus

Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good idea. I will probably see what I can do on my own first. Thanks.

DO NOT practice with AdWords. Practice with AdCenter. Screw up with AdWords and they won't hesitate to ban you.

PPC is still the best method as long as you know how to convert the traffic.

A good course you can check out is traffic black book by Chad Hamzeh

It's a lot harder than it used to be, especially if you use Google.

You really need a lot of testing, but once you master it, it's one of the best traffic sources. Definitely not for beginners though (you can burn a lot of money).

PPC works if you target it. I mean targeting keywords, countries, audiences and all other possible details. I think Adwords can help you. It usually gives better results than other networks. However some users don't get their desired result from Adwords, but i still think its a good resource. I have no experience with Adcenter or other similar networks. Maybe they end to better results.

It is good but it not cheap. You make money with paid traffic in comparison with free methods but you need to have solid tracking system in place. I'd say two important aspects paid traffic is:

    1) Research before creating the campaign

    2) Tracking the traffic

If you do not have the above items in your campaign then you are wasting your money.
