New Sites Are Crawled Frequently But Not Indexed - What's Happening?

Recently I found out that Google is a bit tricky (as always).

So I built a couple of niche sites 2 months ago and got a few of them ranked - all good so far. But there are two that haven't even got indexed! I'm fairly educated on seo, but I just can't wrap my head around this.

I did not do any blackhat. I built the sites, created sitemaps, submitted them to google webmaster. I have built a few backlinks (not many) and the webmaster interface is showing that the sites are crawled:



Webmaster shows that the sitemap indexing is not pending anymore, but 0 page is indexed.

I have tried everything: pinged, built backlinks, resubmitted sitemap, wiped the websites (all wordpress based), waited for a week, created them again and resubmitted them. Fetched as googlebot, etc. Nothing helped.

This wouldn't be an issue if happened once. Two sites is no big deal. But I built 4 sites 3 weeks ago and the same happened. 2 out of 4 got indexed and ranked fine - all good. But the other two haven't got indexed. Usually it's done within a couple of days, but it's been weeks and months now. Webmaster shows the same: google crawls them but 0 is index. It's not duplicate content, they are original articles.

This is very annoying and disturbing. I would really appreciate any advice!
