Suppose a site that is being updated and have a few backlinks, but are not really garnering organic visitors. Should the site fold after a month or wait out for a couple few months?

  • SEO can take anywhere from 1 week to 1 year depending on the keyword you're targeting.

We'd need more info to help you out more

Also a "few" backlinks generally doesn't do much for your website

    • well, i have a website that was created a few days ago with 12 articles in it. I am willing to wait for 6 months before cutting it off it does not develop.
  • A site usually won't "fold" unless it is penalized. You can gradually increase your link building over a 6 month period and once you get a good position, you could start seeing traffic immediately. If you consistently build links in the right niche, you can see results within a few weeks to a few months.
  • well thankfully one of the keywords that i was trying to rank took the 10th spot and has a few backlinks. hope the fiverr gig that i bought on friday can take it effect sometime soon.
  • If you already have a few backlinks then focus on building a nice backlink profile over a period of time. Don't fold.
  • Couple of days?? I usually only give new sites a few hours to show their mettle otherwise...to the curb!!

  • If you are clear about the targeted key phrase which includes better amount of search volume on global scale, then you should make your web site as better performer.

Apart from this you should implement better content, quality but high PR back links also.
