Value of image comments on SEO

I am running GSA search engine ranker, an automated tool for backlings. It has an option to post image comments with anchor to sites like Plogger and such. I have let it run for a few days and have noticed that some of the image comments are high pr and do follow. I was wondering what kind of value do these image comments have as far as seo, or even compared to a blog comment?

  • Images with the proper alt tag pretty much count as a normal backlink/blog comment

    • Congratulations, on doing something that isn't really a trend in SEO. Very cool of you. The value it has is similar to blog comments. If there are high outbound links, the value declines, if it is low out bound links then that is better!

I don't think that's what he was asking!
  • Only problem is most are no follow so if you are doing it for PR increase you are wasting your time.

    • Actually, blog comments, any form, are just the lowest level you
can try and scrape up. I just can't believe this is 2012, and
people are still pumping up blog comments. Google has
said time and time again, blog comments are just junk.
They even make putting adsense on pages with them
against TOS. So, logically speaking, why does one
still want to waste their time?

So many failed threads, penguin failures, panda stomps, and
people keep looking under the same rocks. For what?

I don't get it. OP is even using auto! Come on, people.
Sometimes I just can't believe this stuff.
