Done with Market Samurai, any suggestions on a replacement?

I've had my monies worth from Market Samurai no doubt but I believe it's just too unreliable now and I am looking for a replacement(s)

Generally I only use the Rank Tracker, Keyword Research & SEO Competition modules, so ideally a tool or service that can provide all of these functions. I'm happy to pay a monthly fee to get quality data. I would also like report generation capabilities.

I am considering SEOMoz Pro and SEO Powersuite (I already own Spyglass) but I'm sure there are many other platforms that I should consider.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Traffic Travis has a free version you can check out. I've been using this since Market Samurai went to paid only model. Pretty pleased with the software.

I haven't used the paid Traffic Travis version as I simply don't need all that extra firepower at the moment, so I cannot comment on the quality of the paid version.

I am using Traffic Travis since I started online. There are few things to complain but without any doubt I think its can excellent piece of software.

We're going to be releasing a very cool one shortly at Incansoft - too many features to even begin to mention.

I have only one complaint with TT. Each area you go to produces it's own sperate pdf report. I'd like a one click button that gets all the data and produces a full report. Apart from that I use TT on a daily basis for tank tracking of all my websites. Market Samurai I use for additional research when I'm setting up a new website.

Thanks for that 60day SEOmoz trial code, nice catch Initial Effort.

With regards to Traffic Travis I have played with the free version and whilst it is great for the price I think it doesn't compare well with some of the subscription based Pro level tools (not a fair comparison I realise)

I would be interested in what tools the smaller SEO consultancys are using on a day to day basis. The ability to export high quality reports would be very desirable.

Hey Denis, founder of serpIQ here. We currently support white label PDF reports (your logo, no serpIQ branding at all) for the agency level accounts. In the next month, we'll be upgrading that system where you'll be able to customize the PDF report to match the client you're pitching (sometimes too much data can actually hurt your pitch, something I painfully discovered a few times back when I consulted). I think it would be up your alley. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me.

^^ This combo made me more money in the last three months than most people make in three years. Good stuff.

I should recommend Brad Callen's Niche Finder as a perfect alternative for Market Samurai. I also heard about Niche Sensei which is another version of MS, so give it a try too.

Google Keyword Tool for KW research.

Traffic Travis to analyze the competition of the terms you're interested in targeting.

Excel / Calc to sort the data.

All free and MUCH more powerful that MS.

I think the Traffic Travis software is still top notch and the customer support is very good as well.

They also offer a free trial as well!

I am glad I found this thread I was using markrt samarui for keyword research but was not sure if the results were accurate anymore so as of lately I have been using traffic travis. I get very different results from both where traffic travis tells me a keyword is easy !! Market Samauri dosn't even continue to list the keyword anymore. If traffic travis says a keyword is easy should I go for the keyword?

I also hear alot of people like the google keyword tool and use only that

The Google keyword tool is the best in my honest opinion. It is obviously the most reliable since it comes straight from the big G. Moreover, I have been a past user of Market Samurai itself and totally echo your sentiments. I have also switched to the Google Keyword tool and pretty satisfied with the ease of usage, speed(which primarily triggered me to stop using MS) etc.

And since most tools pull their data from the GKT, why no go straight to the source? It's free and generally MUCH faster anyway.

I have the paid version of Traffic Travis and for me it works best (at the moment).

Generally I review software performance every 3 months to see what the best options are.

No matter what source I am using I usually double check it with GKT to make sure that the information is correct. It may take a few more minutes but it is free and is one more indicator and it is also the source of most other tools out there.
