Newbie here, just a quick question... How many days does one have before google takes a look at my site to decide where to index it? Or is it an ongoing thing where every modification is registered and it changes position weekly or something. I just want to know if I have a reccomended deadline after buying the domain cause I got my EMD yesterday and I'm freaking out about getting it done in a week or something, but I don't know?!?!?!

thanks anyone!

He, yeah its a angoing thing.
If you have a domain but no hosting on it, it will not be indexed.
Indexation is based on the content on your site, if the site is empty it will not get indexed. (so no hosting)

The more time you spend adding content, doing onpage and ofpage seo the higher it will rank in the SERP. (search engine results page)

By quality links you mean incoming links from other pages right? How do you define quality links? Is it down to the "quality" of the website where the links come from (facebook, youtube, etc) or is it another parameter? thanks!

Quality means, no spammy links, linkfarms and so on, but incoming links from sites that are talking about the same thing you do.

If a site has authority, it is good for you! (high page rank, healthy site, no spam and so on)

A youtube video with a link in your description will get you indexed fast. So will a link from a blogger site (better yet if your site is hosted by blogger).

Yeah, I've got hosting and all. So there's no "time limit"? one can just weak and tweak until it starts ranking on top right?! That's great! I'll take my time then. Thanks a lot man!!!

It is a matter of just 5 Minute to "BUILD A SITE".

    1st- Register a Domain.

    2nd-Buy an Web hosting.

    and finally,

Install The WORDPRESS ( my recommendation, best blogging platform).

And here comes your live and active site..

Well about INDEX issue! There is no any exact time for it, just depends on how you build your backlinks...
Yes..! Indexation is totally depends upon backlinks ( more preferably, Do-Follow backlinks).

And for that, the most easy and effective is to "Do What You Are Doing" i.e "Be Active In A Forum" ( But Remember to include a link in your signature)

P.S:-Help or Gets Help, but don't Spam in Forums.. You will be banned.

Get quality links from higher PR pages if you can and that will speed your indexing. You can do some social bookmarking as well to help.

The indexing will probably happen on its own pretty quickly, chances are you won't need to do anything as long as you have some content. I believe the results for most search engines get adjusted automatically/instantaneously.

What if I have no content? Now I guess it just won't rank until I do right? So if once indexed I where to theoritically put a lot of quality content, backlinks, etc in 1 day, it would instantly adjust as soon as I publish those changes? great!

Like Yukon says, what's the hurry?

I certainly wouldn't be getting backlinks before the sites indexed.

      Good luck

I just thought google would give a website an amount of time or something before it ranked it. I had the impression that's how it worked because I read some people complain about their websites getting stuck at page so and so. Why not just tweak it until they make it to the top?

If you are making website based on wordpress. I find easily indexed for my site by setting up sitemap plugin.

There is a setting in that plugin and the result is really cool so just play around with that plugin, I only need 2 seconds to find my new post indexed on Google.

Here is the example after I setup www.bisnisonlinez.com/sitemap.xml

According to my suggestion, indexing is an ongoing process and you dont need to worry about it. once you finished with your site dont create too many backlinks just post some quality content and create a sitemap of your site and submit it to google webmaster tool. You site will be indexed in 24 hours.

Well it depends upon users skills and the design of the website . if it is generally some 5 page business website it will take at- least 2 weeks and if it is complex design then it will require 2 months for it .

ok, but there's nothing to worry about after those 2 weeks/months, one can always tweak it afterwards and it won't hurt seo/ranking at all right?

Google is pretty quick to find new websites these days and reports of getting indexed within a few hours is not uncommon. However, it is ok if you get indexed and don't have your website perfect. It would be pretty difficult to get a whole website done and perfect before google found it.

Every time you update your website google will eventually recrawl it and take notes about any changes you made. In other words, don't worry about your site and the content, you can always make changes and perfect it over time. Getting a couple social media backlinks can really get you indexed fast if you want to get indexed extremely quickly. Although, im not sure why you would want to if your website wouldn't be done by then any way....?
