Suspended Site and Potential Dupe Content Penalty

Hello!
Yesterday the hammer finally dropped on my free WP hosted site (I knew it would but didn't find that out until after building the site as a total newbie).

Staying up until all hours of the night I finally have managed to get myself a real domain and real hosting and (mostly) transfer my blog in it entirety over there.

It will probably take google a little while to notice the new site but I'm worried because the old site is still showing all over 1st page results for all my keywords...driving traffic to a dead site

Will my new site be punished for duplicate content if the crawler comes across the new site before crawling and noticing the old site is down? Should I unpublish the content on my new site and wait for google to deindex the old one?

Is there a way to TELL google to deindex the old site? I'm pretty worried about getting nailed for dupe content even though it's all my original content...its just been posted before on a now defunct site. Shouldn't be punished for that but who knows, I thought I better ask.

Regards,
Curtis

For instance, should I revert all my content on the new site to draft status for now? Or is this not even an issue and google is smart enough to know what's up? (seems doubtful)

    Cheers!

If the page won't load, your previous site will eventually fall from the rankings. Start building links to your new website immediately. If the content is good, you will eventually get your rankings back.

Thank you very much for your quick response. Mucho appreciated.
Google loved my content on "tradebinaryoption.wordpress.com" and, despite the site being only a few weeks old, consistently gave my reviews 1st page rankings, and even 1st place in some cases, which was kind of surprising for a web 2.0 site.

So I'd like to just use that same content on the new site. It's good stuff that required a lot of work, and even money (I do real-money account reviews of the brokers), to produce that content.

It sounds like I should be OK using my content on the new site though. Thanks for that.
      Cheers!
