New Google Updates? (Post Panda)

Hey Warriors,

I've heard several rumors that the Big G is updating their algorithms again to help SEO.

I've heard that sniper sites may be penalized because the rumors I've heard have indicated that sites with many recurring keywords will get penalized. (not keyword stuffed sites/pages, but just sites that target only 1-3 keywords are in trouble)

Anyone have any insight into this? I've only heard rumors but this alarms me because I have sniper sites that do very well and I would obviously like to prevent them from getting penalized.

Thanks in advance!

I have always prefer the building of a larger niche site, anyway. Having a bunch of different sites just seems like too much to manage -- not to mention all the money you fork over for domains you may not even use. That said, I don't pay much attention to the Google update talk anymore. As long as you're putting out quality content that provides value to the end user and is optimized for the search engines, you should be okay.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I hear you on that. I'm good at doing the latter but in regards to the sniper sites, those are hands off.

See, they were really an experiment to see if that strategy actually works. The only thing I have done since putting them up is to add a lil bit of content here and there, other than that the SE garner the traffic. They only bring a few hundred a month but hey whatever.

I kinda have the feeling that the strategy is getting outdated so I won't build any more of them, however I don't want to see the sites lose ranking.

So I'm thinking about my exit strategy...like poker...hold them or (sell) fold them? lol

Err, very much doubt that. Google are doing a lot to penalise SEO (well, manipulated SEO)

Sniper sites have already been hit mostly due to thin content and targeting a single keyword.

Like I said, they are rumors I've been seeing around forums, blogs, and such. And since I have a vested financial interest here, I'd like to know.

Yes and no. Mine haven't been penalized...yet. That's what I'm figuring out right now. Thank you very much.

        Oh, goodie!

If that happens I guess we could take our snipers and combine them into one authority sharp shooter.

No, not a rumor... those days of "snipping" a specific keyword are long gone. You can still snip, just not in every sense of the word.

Ok if those sites that are targeting 2-3 keyword but have good quality content will get penalized then Google will have to penalized couple of million websites, first of Google will rank higher the site with higher quality content first, sites with great content and higher user value rank above sites with excessive SEO as long as you have quality content and optimized ON page but NOT going over the board such as having kw bold & underline and optimizing more for SEO then for users, having ON page with high quality content and good LSI kw you are good to go...These sites that Google is gonna target are very easy to spot, They usually have a keyword domain, lots of keyword-rich internal linking, and heavily optimized title tags and body content many bold & underline kw but without providing good value to the users and not having high quality content...for more info you can read it here http://www.markdulisse.com/blog/

Google won't be happy until there is absolutely no way to make money online. Hopefully it won't adversely affect too many ppl. And by ppl I mean me.

Yep not sure if you know, there was a pretty big update today. Doesn't seem like it's over though.
