Adsense account disabled - how to appeal?

Hi Warriors,

I'm posting this question on behalf of my friend who just received the dreaded email from Google saying that his account has been disabled. He has contacted them twice via the google form, but only received the canned response without any reasons why his account was disabled.

Does anyone know how to appeal to Google or know of someone who might at least least give the reason why the account was disabled?

I've known my Australian friend for a number of years, and I know he doesn't do blackhat stuff or click frauds.

Any help or points is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Adrian

  • I haven't ever seen a case when Google allowed an adsense account to be re-instated...

It may have happened but I know of 3 or 4 people who had their's disabled and Google wouldn't let them back in..

Has your friend considered other text based ad display formats?.. google ain't the only gig in town for ads

    Peace

    • Hi Jay,

Thanks for the speedy reply ... yes, I did suggest some of the alternatives, and he's looking at them.

However, Google has withheld about $3K in his account which he hope to get it back.

  • Was he able to cash out before or is this his first time? How many sites does he have? Does he employ some not allowed techniques such as placings images next to ads, etc?

    • This is not true.

I got click bombed on two sites and had my account cancelled. I contacted Google and sent them all the ip addresses of visitors on the days I got clickbombed.

I told them that none of my friends or family knew what my sites were. I was also a little bit rude. 'All those rubbish automated spam sites out there and you cancel MY account?' And other stuff in the same vein.

They did reinstate me but I think your friend can kiss his $3,000 goodbye because they cancelled all my clicks up to the point I was banned, even those from before when the problem started.

BTW Tell your friend to get the privacy option for all his sites and to use an alias for maketing them because, once somebody finds one of your sites, they can easily find all the others.
    • And that's not cheating google? Won't work - google's not that dumb.

First thing is to go through google's TOS to see if there is something that has been done that violates it or violates the spirit of the terms.

      Questions for your friend:

How old is his google account?
Is this $3k average earnings for him monthly?
Has he noticed any suspicious click activity? Strange site visits?
Has he put his sites or links to adsense sites on a traffic exchange?
Did he encourage clicks on ads in the text on his site?

Ordinarily, you cannot get an account reinstated. If it is an account that has been used for some time with no problems, he may have a chance of google reviewing it.

Would be best to do some analysis to see if he can pinpoint what might have flagged the account. Did he receive a warning email from Google in the past?

If his account is banned, it is doubtful he'll collect anything "due" as google says they return money earned by fraudulent clicks to advertisers.

  • Go to webmasterworld and contact the Google staff in the Adsense forum

This is how I got my account reinstated 3 years ago.

  • i would move onto something else. I got my account disabled as well and started article marketing a clickbank product. Within a few days I am seeing success and actually think this is a better way to make money then adsense for the long run.
  • you need to send an email regarding your concern to google support id and this will involve a human interuption with whom you need to have conversation telling what happend and so on........
  • I got my account disabled last year and thought that I had no options, now at least I think I some however slim they maybe!!
