SIte ranked #4, still not getting much daily traffic

Hello warriors,

My site is ranked #4 for keyword "direct loan consoliddation". url is: Direct Loan Consolidation | Direct Consolidation Loan for Student

Problem is its not getting the traffic i had expected. Since it has 12,000 local/global monthly search (exact search). I was expecting much better traffic than what i am getting now. It even doesn't crosses two digit mark everyday.

Please guide me why this is happening and also what should i do now.

    Yes,I found your website in top 4th position.But I will suggest you analyse other websites of your competitor and you will get the answer.Second,its not necessary to get same traffic as keyword tool suggested.So it would be better if you will target more keywords under your website niche.

      I don't think you'll beat two government sites for the programs your site appears to be about in the SERPs.

    Number 1 is COMPLETELY dominating, so anything other than position 2 wont get much traffic.

    Don't expect much from being #4. Searchers usually just glance at first 3 results and then move on to other website or change the search query..

    Use proxy sites like hidemyass or awesomeproxy to check your website ranking. By doing this you will get the proper ranking of your website.

    Use programs like RankTracker (using a proxy based in the country you want to rank) to check your rankings. Or if you want to check the first few pages, then use a browser with the private browser function.

    Maybe you have target low traffic keywords and usually it is main reason of not getting good amount of traffic. Target those keywords which have good amount of traffic to offer.

    In your case i think you have to check what is the bounce rate becuase of that maybe you are not getting good amount of traffic.
