Maybe some warriors that are more experienced in SEO can help me with this... I hired a SEO guy that I found on here 2 and a half weeks ago.. Now I myself have never done SEO but I do no alot about it and how it works etc.

Well I'm paying my SEO guy xxx amount of dollars a month to do off page SEO to my websites. So far I gave him 2 websites and just today I ran them through Traffic Travis to see how many backlinks I was getting to the first site.

Well the site was indexed but that was about it... Under backlinks and PR's it had a big fat zero.

So shouldn't I have some backlinks to my site by now already? Or this guy taking me for "monthly-fee" ride??

    iamx,
Depending on the type of backlinks it could take a little while for google to pick them up, but I would still have him send you a detailed report of where he put the links as you should be keeping track of them anyway.

      First...

Offpage seo is a lot more than just links.

      Second (should have been first).

Do you have an seo plan and criteria on your demographics and market reach? If not, you need one. Meaning, a spreadsheet that identifies and lists where your target market is on all the different platforms. Your links from your profiles, media, link wheels, etc. will be constructed from that list.

btw...there have been times that Google won't ever expose the link(s) coming into your site. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, sometimes within a few hours. Point is, don't ever wait on Google, you should know where your links are coming from. Especially if your creating link schemes.

some times webmaster and other online backlinks checker tools can't shoe you backlinks however you should give him keywords and say rank these keywords on first page of google search engine.

    Hello,

None of the backlink tool will ever show you the exact number of backlinks to your site and neither you should bother yourself checking for them if you have outsourced your link building. The only thing that matters at the end of the day is "by how much have your rankings improved". If you dont see any improvements in ranking than its time to bid this "SEO guy" adieu and invest your $XXX on something that is actually going to help you rank better.

    Cheers

Well they send a monthly report so I wanna see first hand if there really is any backlinks.

Plus all the research for the keywords I did and they are easy to rank for according to Ultimate Niche Finder/traffic travis.
