Just thought I'd look for some inspiration from people... How many mns have you built up? and over what period of time?

It's hard to give an exact answer since people build them differently. Some will have hundreds of sites that target just a few keywords each. Others, like myself, prefer to have at least 10 pages of content based on a "micro" niche. So a much lower # of sites overall.

overall.. tons! I've just started a fresh batch of 5 though that are slightly larger than normal. they're still being built and have taken a couple of months so far. its a safe guard as I have a feeling 3 page mfa sites won't be around for much longer.

Too many, not really probably about ten.

    I'm tired of MNS though

I've never had good results with mns. Always been into building big authority sites. I think they're a bit more difficult to rank for and can easily get penalized when undergoing manual reviews (especially if you're using a theme like heatmap)... just keep this in mind with doing MNS.

I have built about 2000+ MNS - some for adsense, and many for amazon.

    Entirely automated, using Wordpress multisite.

How's that working out for you? That's a ton of sites.

is the content automated? Seems like they'd be getting hit pretty hard with the recently Google updates.

It is all working very well.

The content is republished content (as opposed to automated as in machine generated content, markov rewrites, and spun articles). I spent some time studying the adsense TOS and google quality guidelines to find out what would be frowned upon by google.

No, google seems to have no problems with these sites. In fact, some of them have gained in ranking.

I figured out a way to generate 100 sites a day and fill them with relevant content from articles and yahoo answers using some paid plugins.

All content is automatically posted, and there are no regular updates. Initially I set the plugins to post over a one month period. After this, I don't update my sites. I have not build backlinks, ever, for my sites. They just rank over time, and I get long tail traffic.

When you say you set the plugins to post over a month period? You mean after its first month it gets no new content updated?

Can you recommend what wordpress plugins to use for this?

Exactly - most autoblog plugins do this. You specify the from and to dates for posting.

Thanks for the response. It's pretty interesting to see what others are doing. Glad to hear that you're doing well. I'd have a heck of a hard time trying to manage that many sites.

Do you regularly update all these sites? Or are the contents automated as well?

Seems like they'd have to be automated. Or managed by a big team of outsourcers.

It doesn't take much managing. Most of my sites are set and forget.

Let us say, at the rate of 100 sites a day, you need 20 days.

Between my own personal sites, and building for other I would have to guesstimate over 300 sites ranging from 5 pages to 20.
