Outbound links on homepage = seo hit; Redirects better?

hi -

I've got a lot of outbound links on my main site's homepage, which link to my various other sites. however I think this probably causes a seo hit, since too many outbounds on the homepage. I still need those links there, though.

is one workaround, to for example instead of having a direct outbound link, have that link go to a redirect page inside my main site, which then autoforwards to the other site, for each link?

or, any other suggestions, given I need 15+ outbound links on my index.htm page, to help avoid se penalty? thanks...

    Make them no follow?

    Don't really understand how you think it causes a hit, but you still need them there.
