Meta Description not showing on Google Search Results

Hey people, I am still learning SEO as we speak, so I do apologise for the lack of knowledge.

Basically what my issue is, I have a website, and recently I have noticed that on Google Search Results it does not show the Page Titles i have created - it just shows the company name AND it does not show up any meta description below the link. I know each of the pages have meta description on, because its there in the source code, but Google just doesnt want to pick it up. My ranking in Google and traffic into my site has been affected by this.

Am I doing something wrong?

  • Do you mean you are seeing an whole set of google look for that are name only - with no small below any of them?
  • Google doesn't always use your meta description. Depending on the search query that the searcher used, Google will display a section of content from your page that is more relevant.

    Google do though always display the title tag so ensure you have formatted this correctly. To be honest though... I have seen this happen before.

    • Thanks for your input guys! The thing is the meta description did use to appear under the link on google search results, but recently i have upgraded the Joomla version and moved hosting company and this issue has only occured since then.

      Regarding the title tags, even they dont appear in the correct format on google search results.
