Hello,

I have a myblog dot wordpress dot com blog.

If I promote this blog, and write like 10 posts on it, can I use its blogroll to backlink to several sites of mine? or is it better to embed the links within posts?

Also, I see in Tumblr, what is called Reblogging. what is this? and is it any efficient for me to reblog others? i see it reflected in my SEO SPY Glass report having done 1.

Thakns in advance

Anything that they regard as "commercial intent" will get the blog removed, the first time it's "flagged" by a competitor - this is the problem with wordpress.com. (Have you ever read the TOS?).

As you can see from a read through their forum, they evidently count "trying to use it to generate traffic or backlinks to another site" as "commercial intent".

You'd perhaps be far better off with a self-hosted wordpress blog - even one put up on free hosting like Byethost.com or 000WebHost.com - for this purpose: that way, wordpress.com's TOS wouldn't apply to you.

So, what are other options? Web2.0 pages allow for this?
I was thinking to create 20 web 2.0 pages and creating backlinks to them. This is the best option to get them all actively indexed and pointing to my website. correct?
If thats a good plan, can you help me with some web 2.0 names?

If you using blog roll in wordpress to give backlink to another wordpress than I think it is not worth because is the same domain and might be the same hosting..so in that case I highly suggest you to go for your own hosting account and write content over there, because the content what you are writing in wordpress, the wordpress can switch off your blog anytime so your content is gone and all your energy and effort is drained..

Regarding tumblr, reblog means when you visit another tumblr blog and you find one blog interesting and you want to sharing it in your tumblr blog as well so if you share it or reblog it that means you are giving backlink too that tumblr so in other way if some one finds interesting reading your tumblr blog and they willing to reblog to their account as well than you are getting backlink from them..I hope this makes sense to you..

Well, I would prefer blogpost and I will explain you why. If the blog has 1,000+ articles and my website is on the right sidebar (blogroll), it will appear on ALL of the pages, right? So, this will be 1,000 backlinks to it... -> This will be UNNATURAL for google and google can blacklist ALL the backlinks and they will NOT be counted. Of course if the blog is small (not more than 250,300 articles at all), blogroll is better because of the higher chance to get visitors and for more backlinks in the beginning.
