Strategies incorporated- Checklist

1. Above the fold ad placement
2. Blending
3. Matching font family and font size of the ads to that of content.
4. No border
5. Left and right placments and tracking with custom channels.
6. 3 content ad units per page.
7. Use of link unit
8. Use of adsense for search
9. All ad types enabled- i.e. text, image, rich media
10. Use of prefered ad sizes
11. Keeping in mind Heatmap when placing ads
12. An ad at the end of article

What am i doing wrong that is the cause of almost zero CTR.

Receiving about 70-100 visitors per day currently. Planned to write more lessons, but as no adsense results coming in, bit demoralized

    Thanks for your suggestion.

The lessons i have to write are generally Step by step instructions on what to do and make extensive use of screenshots- Hence the empty spaces besides the screenshots. What do you suggest i do to fill those empty spaces.

screenshots are usually of different widths. What should i do to improve the alignment?

maybe adsense ads are not relevant to your website, if you see irrelevant ads then block them in adsense "Block ads" page
also ask your friends of other countries about the niche of the ads they see in your site, because adsense ads differ in every country, ask your friends and also block those irrelevant ads
Thnx. I will block some of the ads.
Yesterday created a no-weight google ad section around the left navigation. But as have read, that will have an effect on re-indexing of the pages.

well firstly you need to change the layout of your site

you have no adsense ads above the fold, no wonder your not making much

i would include a 336x280 ad block above the fold wrapped around your content

this will make you more money instantly

also use the google default colours, they are dfault because they work the best (in most cases)

also maybe put a 160x600 in the sdebar too

    this will get you going

Yeah just a little tweaking in the design can make all the difference. I know Google AdSense does provide tips about how to optimize your ads.

You can tweak all you want. If the ads are not relevant to your site's visitors intent, then they won't click.

Maybe you can earn more by selling a word tutorial ebook on the site, or affiliate link to such a book on Amazon.

About Half an hour after i started this thread, was Click Bombed. 37 clicks on 10 impressions ??? Advance reports say all from India. analytics tell only 1 visitor from New Delhi.

Never happened before. Assuming google will handle it on its own and i don't need to report the clicks as invalid. Any thoughts?
