SEO Is Dying

I Should say, SEO is dying as we know it - With most decent/well known blog networks being banned, and this looming Panda update going after spun content and irrelevant links (which makes sense), it seems many people are losing rankings - and losing revenue.

It's NOT just bad spammy sites being affected, there are over 1000 posts here from people with aged AUTHORITY sites being slapped or banned for no apparent reason: Google Groups

While I'm all FOR bad/poor/irrelevant sites being penalized - that does not seem to be the case with many sites.

What are you doing for rankings, for traffic for your own or your SEO clients sites?

For me, I'm finding social media integration to be more important than ever now:
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Youtube
  • Pinterest
  • Google Plus
Doing these things does take a bit more work, obviously, but it's working. Google is looking at social indicators on a MAJOR level now, which makes these MUCH more important now than they were even 6 months ago

So, my question to you is - what are YOU doing about it? What is working for YOU?

  • i am doing this work.
    creating facebook notes with quality content (with link pointing back to my site) and building backlinks to them.

    the major benefit is that no more sandbox risk.

    • How are the fb notes working out? I know a CB course came out recently talking about that and many people jumped on it, but got theirs deleted due to spam, etc.

    • Do you see that viable long term? The reason I ask is I have come across Facebook notes in the SERPS, but everyone I have come across have been deleted and the account suspended by facebook. I have had to look at the cache to see what the note actually said.

      I only base this off an observation of a handful of notes that I just happened to come across.
  • So far I have not seen any of my sites lose their ranking, but they might in a near future. So, I have start thinking about what to do, and here are my conclusions:

    - First of all, I do not believe Google will penalize you for having bad links. This would make it easy for your competitors to outrank you by making crappy links to your site, and Google, if they have a little common sense, will not allow this. So, I will keep building backlinks in the same way I did. (I do not use Blog Networks)

    - All my sites have original content. So, I will keep it this way, but try to update them more often.

    - Just in case, I will start looking for alternative traffic methods, like Social Media.
  • I can tell you that Pinterest sucks eggs as far as traffic referrals go, and the links are no-follow.

    Unless you have a bot plugging away affiliate links, you're out of luck. I approve of the bots.
  • SEO has been dead. Now the SEOs just have to figure it out and jump in the grave.
  • SEO is not dying but its work as a dead person. it is very slow and time taking work.
    So hard work is very necessary to get high position.
