This Google update killed my big site

Most Google updates in the last year have really helped my site, which has about 300 quality articles, but this last one really hurt it.

I have read that Google is showing a bunch of wack results, so they will likely have to backtrack on something. I hope they do. I have lost a ton of traffic.

So sorry to hear that my friend.

It's sad when google actually hurts sites like yours that have a ton of quality articles on it...keep us updated if you can.

This is an opportunity for power to change hands. Many authority sites are gone

Same issue here. Went from 1200 visits yesterday to 300 today. I was ranked #4 for some terms, and now I'm ranked #70...

I feel ya bro, all my sites tanked. Most white hat, My main authority site is the best quality in my niche. Traffic and money gone. That was my income, I have no "real" job. I guess that's the chance you take playing the SEO game. I'm studying facebook ads at the moment. I'm still in shock but the bills have to be paid and I need to evolve.

I would suggest you do the same. Good luck and know that there are many others in our situation. Just stand strong and move forward. Who knows maybe this BS update will be reversed, doubt it but it's possible.

I have the same problem, I have a nice little site making me Approx $150/month for months already. Today, for no reason and no change on my part I only got pennies so far and I am NO LONGER on the first page. What the hell is Google doing?

I went from #2 in my main keyword to who knows where. Even my own crappy google+ page ranks ahead of it with zero content.

I don't know what the heck Google are playing at. It's been over a week now since Penguin rolled out and the SERPs are still rubbish.

For example, how is a Weebly site with old content and awful grammar, better than a site with new content and well written articles? Whatever, the algo is doing to determine a sites rank its getting totally confused.

The Penguin is slapping people for having backlinks unless they are ranking it high purely because Weebly is an authority site. That is a complete fallacy because why should someone get a ranking disadvantage just because they have their site self hosted and not on a authority site like Weebly.

Hopefully they have a new update on the horizon, but if it's anything like Penguin it won't be good news.

I think you need more relevant and strong backlinks if you want to again gain you previous rank.

Same here, my site is nearly 7 years old, more than 200k of words...

And it is gone after the penguin update. Though I guess it is because of anchor text percentage problem....

Yeah, most of the websites I was working on received a very big hit by google. I also read a lot of negative reviews from webmasters all around the world about the latest google updates...

    The same story is here,

My site was ranking on 2nd position in Google.com but it has now 15th position, I'm still trying to rank according to new changes.

I don't have other way to go.

I would say we shouldn't depend on only Google, we should also try to receive traffic from Yahoo and we should learn Yahoo Algorithm, Google is really daunting and I'm sure one day there would come a big player and teach Google a great lesson and throw it into a ditch.
