With Google constantly changing its algorithms and whatnot, it is always best to shoot for the long term and create high quality, unique articles (if you have an article-based site/blog). These articles can be keyword based. In my opinion, Google will never punish sites that solely publish articles such as this. All of their algorithm changes have been to push these types of sites higher up in the rankings.

Doing it yourself nowadays is the best linkbuilding method to protect your rankings. People just don't want to really hear that lol. ( They want an easy way out )

Blog commenting is my favorite method.

Can you expand on what your doing in regards to blog commenting...What is the process you go through to do that so that your not wasting your time. I feel like many times you try strategies, but in the end your just wasting time because your not doing it right. Thanks, I appreciate it

Sure I comment on blogs with a lot of traffic ( Established Blogs ) The more traffic and the better the Alexa rank the more you are going to want to comment on that blog for a backlink.

Make intelligent well thought out comments especially if they are related to your blogs niche you can get a lot of clicks back to your blog ( If the blog is high traffic ) just by posting intelligent well thought out comments.

If the blog has comment love with a link back to your blog post even better. No magic formula but it accomplishes two things.

        1. You get a high quality backlink
        2. Traffic

You mean CommentLuv? There are a lot who are looking for blogs using that plugin. Add KeywordLuv to the mix as well. Those who are into blog comments love these plugins because they can get to have dofollow links in return.

There's one thing that I want to make sure I'm doing whenever I'm making blog comments, and that's to add value to the post. I'm not really thinking about link building whenever I write comments on blogs, but I would be happy if they let me place a link. That being said, it would be better if you build relationships with the bloggers which can help you with your link building mission. There might be a chance that they'll be the ones building your links for you without you asking for their help.

The most effective SEO strategy is basic SEO and unique content. Mostly unique content.

Google is constantly changing its algorithm to index sites with great content, rather than complete SEO optimized sites.

All you need is basic SEO so Google knows that keywords you want to target and unique content, which actually gets you noticed and ranked.

I've interviewed an eight figure SEO master, and a Google employee -- they both said that unique content is what matters the most.

      • Varied link sources
      • Varied anchor texts
      • Quality, not quantity.
I think that sums it up nicely.

Google has their guidelines for acquiring links and it must be followed or else you'll be penalize. What matters most for Google is the quality of content plus quality back links.

This defintely. And try build some links that can bring in their own traffic, like youtube videos, facebook page wall posts etc. This so you don't have to rely on SEO as much.
