    Zonkow,

I wouldn't do anything until the dust settles a bit and we see what has really happened. I don't think G intended for some pages to be completely blank that are on the first page of very competitive words like "make money online"...so I would wait a bit before doing any changes...

I agree...way too early to start making changes to your marketing and optimization strategies...let's see how this all plays out. Google can't leave the results like this or they'll lose all their searchers.

Probably much the same - without over optimising of course.

Its true that Google will refine its search results to some extent but it already has clearly shown the right path. Google is now giving more and more importance to relevancy. The game has become much difficult for the people who try to optimize and rank for some specific singal keyword. Google is now looking how much the content is relevant to some specific term. Probably, it will be a good practice to use LSI keywords and give them good proportion in your off-page SEO.

You've got yourself a little recipe there. Just like baking a cake. If only Google was so simple minded

Let's just wait until the new Google algorithm hype calms down and that's the time we make a move. There's no point in rushing things right away and panic.

if your content does not look spammy and keyword stuffed then you are just fine with the new updates of Google algorithm

That's the problem, the is a incredibly complicated space and Google is trying to dictate what they think it should be with crap technology that's not yet ready. They're ruining things and this is why i've always said, monopolies are bad and we need more diversity. Facebook is a good example too.

The same way as before the algo, change.

BTW, the description tag is for human eyes not SEO.

Hey if you feel you have been wrongly pushed down the SERP, you can contact Google directly. The head of the webspam team (aka Matt Cutts) tweeted: "If you know a site affected by algo update that you don't think should be affected, we made a form to provide feedback. goo.gl/nt3Pz"

Thank you for posting the link to the feedback form. I just have sent to messages to Google. I will hope this helps to get my sites reconsidered. At least I expect to get a brief feedback on the punishment by the penguin update. This should ideally state why the punishment has occurred.

I have tried hard to be in align with googles guidelines. I have studied them again recently. I just cannot figure out why the websites have been hit by the update.

I have outsourced my SEO activities. It is hard for me to judge wether the link building has been 100% white hat. The service provider claim it at least.

Now I have a question: after the penguin update and the punishment...does it make sense to further optimize on these websites or should I change to another domains? Will the rankings come back, if I continue building links that comply with Googles guidelines?

      Thanks for any thoughts!

On 24th Apr Google has update some valuable information on their webmasters blog. They wrote about "Another step to reward high-quality sites".

In this blog post they have distinguished the White Hat and Black Hat techniques. I think its an important thing to learn for all webmasters.
