Is your penalized website GUILTY of doing this?

The only reason I can think of why my site got penalized is because it attacks similar keywords on different pages.

For example, if you have a blog that has articles like these:

How to lose weight fast in 10 days
Tips for losing weight quick before summer
3 strategies for getting rid of fat
How to get rid of fat quick

Google might look at your website and think "Hmmmm, these are all keywords that mean the same thing. This could be addressed in one single page, no need for several pages."

My site has original and useful content, but I'm guilty of using this strategy.

If that's the reason I got penalized, then I can understand.

The problem, however, is that the sites that have replaced my rankings are absolute CRAP. They look like they were made back in the 90s and their content is one million times worse than mine. Some are even irrelevant to the searches.

Google shouldn't penalize over optimized websites if the websites that are going to replace them have 100x times worse content.

  • It's not surprising the crap is showing up. If Google really did eliminate a majority of optimized websites, that leaves the crap unoptimized ones in their place.

    • Its due to new algorithm update of Google which is called over optimisation of a website. Matt cutts has explained very well about it in Google blog.

Multiple pages with unique similar content & titles on the same site is not over optimized.

If your not keyword stuffing pages, there is nothing wrong with these page titles so long as each page is unique quality content.

    • Then my site did nothing wrong and I was unfairly penalized.

I never bought link packages or used automated software like AMR or SeNuke.

I only included the keyword 2-3 times inside the content of each article.
