SEO guys... Say you have 2 clients, one at $500 per month, and another at $1000 per month. What's your profit on each of those?

Do you do all the back link work yourself or do you buy from vendors in places like BST to do social bookmarks, web 2's, press releases, ect?

I think depending on what they spend we adjust our profit margin accordingly. For our clients, with a £500 seo budget, we take 50% (and we let them know that) and split the profit between us.

For £1000 we'll take 40% usually. I specifically do it myself as it's cheaper and I can do it better than anyone else. I don't think you can outsource SEO on small budgets, no way. If you wan't to show results ie for hard competitive industries, taking into account
what the outsourcer would take and money going back into the site, it's just not gonna work out.

Good links cost money, and will take quite abit of the budget. Fact.
