Using Content From Other Sites? Bad For SEO, No Effect, What If Similar/Re-Written?

I have like 160 articles from blogs all over that relate to my niche & money site. What's my best option here, don't have all the time in the world or the money to outsource to re-write them..

Should I just post them all on my site, make a ton of pages, get a ton of pages indexed, etc. Or should I re-write them all, posting them one by one over a long period of time.

12 year old site, PR 2? 300 backlinks, trying to do some serious SEO boosting in the next 45 days with link-building but have to play it safe. Trying to cushion it with a ton of articles and pages..

    Spin them?

Google doesn't like copied content try to make it unique.

So you randomly went to other people blogs and copied their articles to either use on your site or to rewrite and use on your site?

Just making sure I understand here.

Rewriting them so they pass Copyscape won't make them unique. Make sure you insert your own voice and some different angles into the article. I only rewrite articles if I've bought them as PLR. I wouldn't take another webmaster's articles and rewrite them as my own.

I'd be very wary of just posting a bunch of articles that belong to other websites. It seems kind of unethical (if I'm understanding you correctly).

This was the point I was getting at. Don't take other peoples articles. I go after people that steal articles from my sites and I am usually successful in getting them taken down in one way or another.

It should be as unique as possible. However, an article spinner and use of manual editing could help you accomplish the rewriting task as much as possible. I personally frown upon PLR content because it could be posted 'lord knows how many places' on line already.

    How did you get them?

What rights to publishing/distributing them do you own?

Please forgive the direct questions, here, but your initial post really does make it sound terribly like you're a thief asking for advice on how to use the stolen goods without getting caught?! Nothing personal - I'm only asking ... anyway, I'm sure you'd like a convenient opportunity to clarify that that isn't actually so at all (if it isn't)?!

Stealing others people content is really a bad karma move , if this is your case I would suggest you to post those articles on your site and mess your rankings up as google hates duplicate content. If those articles are plr , free rights etc then go ahead and re-write them anyway , use copyscape to check if content is unique and post it.

Few months ago I've red about Google service for submitting your own blog articles for claiming originality.
This way owner/writer claims that he is the first one, and all other instances of same article is copied. Only thing is that ....I cant remember the URL of that service.

Does anyone knows this URL or anything about this?
*or it was a dream, since I cant find any info on this this days

Recently I've saw that you can mark your article by using Google+ service, but I'm not interested in that too much.

    Cheers for marketars!

Copying any content which is already published on internet may be something can create no value to the new website where you are going to publish it and in post panda word it can be treated as thin content site by Panda.

You should always prefer to right unique rewritten articles and content no doubt reference can be taken from the websites but Google now has become more stringent with low spammy quality of content. So, if you use them it may be possible that your site gets penalized so try to use fresh unique content insipite of time constraints.

Seems like you've collected articles from various blogs related to your niche and want to make use of your old domain and earn some quick bucks. But i would like to ask you question. Is Google fool to index the same copied content and rank you high for that old domain? You need to work really hard on content to succeed.

Look - I do something similar for my financial site and I troll the blogs and articles of my competitors, copy them all into Word documents and then hire them to re-write them. I do the master pages myself, but the daily stuff, I just don't have time for and it's cheaper to hire somebody to re-write them, than it is to hire another staff member just for writing blogs... I also know that nobody is going to read these blogs and articles, they're just there to beef up the site and for Google.

If I was to get hold of 300 PLR articles and completely rewrite them, could I get some traffic from Google in a competetive niche for longtail keywords?

Google will catch u spinning articles !! And penalize u or sandbox u completely. But if you like a particle article lets say about bikes .. Then take it and put it in word and make it your own by putting your own spin on it.

Like I did with this one about Louisiana wedding trends in 2013
