Allowing Pingbacks And SEO

I do a lot of article marketing that has been working (well until Penguin but I am working on that) and I have not posted any of the pingbacks on my blog. Perhaps allowing some of these would be good for my site? I have looked around the web and can't find anyone coming at this from the perspective that I am. There is no backlink value in this for me. I am wondering if allowing these pingbacks (no follow links) would be good for my site.
