Both will work just fine, although I have a feeling that as time goes on, good social links will have more power than traditional 'high quality backlinks'.

seo for suidoo lens is same like your website. better you should work on your own site rather than squidoo or hubpages.

Me personally, I don't find trying to get a lens to move up in the rankings very promising. I leave it where it lands, and find that it moves up as it ages. Social bookmarking helps, and there are groups on facebook that are specifically for squidoo lensmasters to share their lenses. this is probably the biggest one

Generally, diversified link building is still strongly recommended. So for your question, yes it can help your hubs and lens to go up in SERP since you can get links from social bookmarking sites.

But again, it would be much better if you will mix things up.

I'm guessing social bookmarking links would work well.

I have used social bookmarking and web 2.0s for squidoo pages before and they definitely helped the page out in terms of PR(0 when I wrote to 2 after backlinking and time).

It didn't hurt that my Squidoo was very well written too.

Once your Squidoo lens start appearing on SERPs, its a huge boost to your site. However, publishing lenses nowadays is no walk in the park. Squidoo is becoming stricter but its a valuable authority site worth dropping your links at.
