Ranking 2nd for 6600 exact searches with 0 unique content and blog comments

If you've seen any of my posts you might know that I had less than 4 percent of my sites negatively affected by Penguin. Overall I think it was a pretty good update... with some minor flaws, like this one. I was looking at my SERP book stats for a site I have not touched in over 1 year. It was a test site I built using WP Robot - after I realized the keyword term was going to be too competitive to bother ranking for. I noticed that in the last month it was sitting at number 10 for the 1600 exact search keyword and number 11 for the 6600 exact search keyword.

The keyword is an EMD for the 1600 exact search term.

So like I said the site was built using WP Robot- It's a completely garbage site with absolutely 0 words of unique content. It's got like 100 items pulled from Amazon and another 20 articles pulled from Ezine - not even spun nor formatted.

The site doesn't even have a proper meta description. Google is pulling an excerpt.

It's now ranking 2nd for the 6600 exact keyword and 5th for the 1600 exact keyword.

Now let's put the icing on the cake.

It's 100 percent backlinked with Scrapebox blog comments from over a year ago. Here's the fresh index count from Majestic:

These are completely garbage links. The site is completely garbage. Yet I'm ranking. 2nd - for a very competitive keyword, with 6600 exact searches.

I'm sure the bounce rate is going to be through the roof today - I didn't even have the site added in Piwik but I just added it , though its midway through the day. Who knows if the ranking is going to even hold, but just thought I'd report it.

I'm too afraid to even change the site around, but I might add at least 6 unique posts on the home page to convert some sales - haven't had to write my own product reviews in quite some time but looks like it's crunch time.
