My keywords down from Page 1 to Page 10

I have two category pages's main keywords sink from Page 1 to page 10 and page 25.

After spending my whole day research on this, I found out on both pages, I have recently put a block of re-write content (text) right below the products with repeating keywords (at least 10% density)

Is this the reason causing the page to sink down?

Have you heard of something called Google Panda? And Google Penguin?

Find them out and you shall figure whether you were affected by those. Chances are, you were affected.

Here is a thread for further reading: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...nge-today.html

    Thanks.

    Yes, most likely.

Ray, thanks for your fast reply.

So if I remove the text block there or replace with original contents with no stuffing keywords, will it help me gain the ranking back?

It probably will, but it will likely take a while. Also, check to see if you have any other duplicate content on Copyscape. I run all of my sites through a Copyscape check at least once a day.

When you say a while, like how long, 1 month, 3 months or even longer?

It can happen as fast as 1 week. You just need to do it the right way and in your case 10% keyword density is why your rankings took a dive. Lower it to 1-3% kw density and input 1% lsi keywords into your content and do some proper offpage seo.

  • Same happened with my ranking's also.. Its because google has updated its algorithm.

You should rewrite your web page content using unique and custom content and then start link building for the same.

    thanks for all the help.

I have done some re-write last night and right now the density is about 2%, hopefully it will recover back.

But the weird thing is two of my other pages which have done exactly the same thing, but not effected at all.

    Any explanation for this?

One of my page is now from page 25 to page 2, but the other is still at 10, and no change

is it called over optimization? Why we are not happy when we have good result. You change something right before penguin update i guess and have faced a negative impact. So don't change a thing on those keywords which are already on the first page of google unless you are very sure about what you are doing.
