search for your site with http://yoursite.com - if it comes up then it is indexed if not then it is not

as stated above, you check if your site is indexed by typing

    site:www.yoursitehere.come

    into the google search engine

Is the site new? It may take a few days to get sorted out. If you're inner pages are indexed, I'm sure you're home page is most likely. I set a site live on the 26th of April, and the very first page that I noticed ranking for my chosen kw phrase was a blank Contact page... Today it has sorted itself out and now my home page is ranking.

If you're site is not new, I'm not sure what would be going on with that...

What does it say in your robots.txt file - could be blocking index there?

Give it some time, that happens to my sites regularly, if google is showing all the proper meta descriptions and titles and it is still not showing up, then there is something wrong. The normal deal for my sites is it gets included, but they just grab the title and description from the copy, then when it gets really crawled and indexed all the titles and description are correct.
