Maybe G update is a good thing (Say welcome to cr*ppy sites)

Perhaps this new Google update was a good thing after all.

I mean, I`ve seen few cr*ppy sites on page 1. Some have less than 400wrds and no backlinks, huge adsense ad blocks above the fold and stuff like that...

I`m going to be building sites like that too from now on.

Where it took a 1-3 days to build a micro site + lots of backlinking, I can now build few sites a day and don`t need to worry about linking that much. Few links here and there...

If google wants that, that`s what they will be getting.

If it`s going to be that easy, this update is awesome!

  • I agree. I've been knocking myself out to produce good quality content. Maybe I should just go with the flow and save myself a lot of aggravation. Apparently, Google loves the crappy sites better.

I've tried doing things the hard way. I'll see if the easy way works. It won't cost too much. I already have a hosting reseller account. I'll pick up 4 or 5 new domain names today and buy some spinner software.
  • There is a huge amount of crap on top now, but surely Big G must be monitoring this and will roll out a new update shortly (touch the biggest piece of wood).
  • The update has no other purpose than to destabilse SERP so that more people start using Adwords.

And besides the onpage difference between Adwords and and organic search results is getting very thin
  • Might work, until they start hearing things like "Screw Google, Im gonna start using Bing".. we'll be seeing a rollback pretty soon here I suspect

    • Not hardly. Google doesn't care about your internet marketing or your website or your threat to use Bing. They just need to appeal to the 99% that aren't marketers, which they're doing just fine with.

How many of your facebook friends are posting that suddenly they aren't getting relevant results in Google? Exactly.

  • Bing is only sending me about 50 uniques a day right now. I was getting about 300 uniques from Google. More people have to use Bing.
  • There's an upsetting number of fake facebook pages ranking quite high for nice keywords.

  • Dude, who said I'm defending anybody? Wtf?

He was alluding to the fact that you did not make a very strong case for your point .
  • Good luck surviving the next update.
  • LOL...do it fast buddy before the next update come up

    • ...maybe then my current sites rank high again
  • Ok, my point is, people get crappy results, people go to other search engine. Google doesn't want people to go to other search engine, so Google either rolls back or makes new update in order to not lose visitors. What's not to get here?

    • The problem is, google is smarter than you. By the time you get your plan up and running they will have figured things out and your plan of destroying google with crappy sites will fail. Actually, your plan will go unnoticed.

Why not try to do something to build your business instead of trying to take down a powerful entity such as google?

I agree, Google tries to give relevant and quality result and search feature is the main of all Google products, Google+ is other thing and Facebook is also different thing they can't be compared to Google search.

What I have realized is we shouldn't post duplicate content. And avoid keyword stuffing.
  • I am just wondering what keywords you guys are searching... any real keyword seems to be displaying good results for me. Anyone who is mad about penguin or panda or any Google update is obviously affected by the update in a bad way. Meaning they are spammers of some sort and do not understand it themselves. Google finds ways to catch your horrible SEO and slaps you for it... case closed, find a new hobby.
  • One of my testing sites got hit but the other sites are fine, hopefully everybody will find a way to recover, I know Google screwed up alittle bit in this update and some crappy sites showed up but I guess they are working on it..

Lets get to the reality part! why would Google help internet marketers to rank ? Google doesn't care about our sites and they don't want sites created just to make money, if I had a site and people come and post stuff on it just to make money..try to rank and sell products then I will kick them out , use logic guys..

    • Google's Webmaster guidelines say that affiliate sites are OK as long as they provide value. Who is to say whether a site was created just to make money or not? If the content is original, the grammar and spelling is good and the content has plenty of related keywords to the topic, surely that is a good indication that the site owner wants to provide value to the readers and not just make a buck.

The most stupid thing about this update is that lazy gits who have literally copied and pasted directly from the Amazon product description page and included nothing else are ranking for keywords on page 1. If Google is against lazy marketers and "webspam", why do they allow this to happen?

  • I feel like it's sort of like winning the lottery getting your crappy site picked for page 1

If I made a website and put crap on it and did no linking it was sit at the bottom forever
  • The most irrelevant results I get is when I search my name. It used to be Facebook, G+, LinkedIn and Twitter on top which made perfect sense. Now besides those websites I see a bunch of crappy sites that I don't even know with a wrong address of my home, LinkedIn directory for that search, etc... I am happy this was named just after Penguin. I hope a day never comes that they call it Dinosaur update. I would probably find my name on the second page of Google when I'd search my name.

    • As if Google cares what MFA'ers in the Adsense section in Warrior Forum think.

  • My keywords already kicked out far away I think. because i did not check they any more. Maybe some will get benifit from it but some not.
  • I'm seeing a lot of wiki pages starting to rank a lot more higher than usual. Hopefully they will roll out another update soon.
