SEO Linkvine In The Age Of The Penguin

I was riding high on page one of the G monster and think that the primary reason was the use of seolinkvine, article marketing on a network of privately owned blogs.

When the penguin hit I lost 66% of my traffic because of the de-ranking of some pages. Google has decided to keep the site ranked high on some less valuable keywords.

Now I am not sure what to do. I can't go retrieve all the articles that are out there...

I am wondering if SEO linkvine is something that I should even keep using. It was my number 1 tool and getting hit has made me question its validity to play properly with Google.

Let me know if you use SEOLV and got hit and what you are going to do about it.

i have not used SLV, but now a days using these type of blog networks are too risky, I've also heard about BMR. i suggest you to post your articles on web2.0 sites instead of private blog networks.

I am leaning that way. Appreciate the input.

The good news is that your site was most likely not penalized. Your back links were just devalued. Consider creating your own network of blogs as an alternative. You should also look for other ways to diversify your link profile. Links from pictures, videos, social networks, web 2.0s. Also sure to vary your anchor text. I wouldn't use my primary keyword more than 50% of the time.

Actually 10-15% for primary and 25-30% for secondary KW's is more than enough. But yeah everything else is more than right.

Also people diversity diversity and more diversity, you can't use only one way to backlink your site.

Good advice and well said. Diversity is key in everything.

So do you think I could just create more backlinks to the secondary or even "worthless" keywords just for the diversity and natural appearance?

I also have a subscription with SubmitYourArticle but they seem very limited on their network and it looks like article sites got hit by Panda and I don't get the traffic that I use to from them.

Would like to shed any overhead during this time of rebuild.

        What do you think?

That is an idea I have heard and it would be good news.
I do not spam at all in forums or anything so you could be right.
      Thanks for the ideas.

Private networks and a nice mix of web 2's and vids are probably the way to go now. I guess time will tell though!

I think Google is valuing social media trends more than before. If you start building lots of links, it would make sense to increase your exposure on twit, face, G+, etc... to create a trend and add legitimacy to the speed/quantity of new links.

If you're just building links at a somewhat steady pace, then just mix up the anchor text and start deep linking into your website... and keep building links. I can't imagine an incoming link actually hurting your ranks (otherwise people would be seriously sabotaging each other), but I'm certain they have seriously devalued certain types of links (I've felt the most impact from devalued blog links, where the blogs where generally mediocre quality).

seolinkvine and seolinkmonster are the same right?
I also see some page that rank an article with linkwheel method on webs.com, I believe there is some vuln with old linkwheel method on web 2.0 and private blog network.

That could be the case... if true that would mean that my brilliant idea of getting back into article marketing is not so brilliant.

I only used LAM a little bit... but I used Article Marketing Automation, ArticleRanks, and Unique Article Wizard a lot. (I'm also using the much more expensive LinkAloha at the moment.)

Yeah I use to use allot of Blog networks about 4-6 all of them got caught including seolink Vine. That being said they still work as effectively even more affective as they where before because if you can get one that isn't going to be caught you have an advantage over your competition as they will likey not have access to one.

Of course there is allot of risk.
