How to leverage web 2.0's

Hey everybody,

I want to get into Web 2.0's more since I know it is beneficial for SEO. I have a hubpage and a squidoo lens. My question is: what methods do you use to get the most out of these sites? I have made about 3 posts on hubpages linking back to my website and a few others linking to my blog entries on my site. How often can I continue to do this before Google catches on that its really me doing this? I'm assuming I cant use each web 2.0 more than 3 or 4 times. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this.

  • My guess is that Google would catch on the very first time. But that's not really the most important thing to them. They like a wide variety of high quality links, and if a few come from web 2.0 sites, so what? But how much benefit is there in continuing to make links from the same site? Probably not a ton.

      Luckily there are 100's of web2.0 sites so that will keep you busy for a while.

      Customize them, add Youtube, add an image here and there and it works great.
    • Not more links, more pagerank, juice them up a little and treat them well
  • I have been slowly (and manually) adding some Web 2.0 content. Blogger, Blogetery etc...

    Typically, I write about 4-6 articles on each. Each article is about 500 words, and originally written by me. Yea, it's a lot of work. I place a link in EACH article to the same website. From what I am hearing, that should be changed. Is that right?

    And how many links would you suggest? Perhaps only one link from each Web 2.0 pointing to my site? I actually have about 5 sites, so each Web 2.0 is relevant to a specific website. And does throwing in a link to another reputable site help (like the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for example)?

    By the way, my main websites have tons of content that I regularly update and add to so these Web 2.0 sites are just for added links and diversification. But the content is good.

      I place 1* 1000+ word article with a few Youtube video's embedded and link out 1 time to my money site and 1 time to the next web2.0 to make a linkwheel out of it. Works incredibliy well.

      And no you don't need to write heaps of content to make many web2.0's. After all the updates people think spinning is bad but a well spun article makes no difference to a uniquely written article.

      My process:

      - Grab 15 articles
      - Divide them into 90 paragraphs
      - Make 15 spinblocks of 6 paragraphs each
      - Run the whole file through theBestSpinner but only select max 1 synonym with settings: Best>Better>Good and make sure you select it from the user favourite database. Again very important MAX 1 synonym. As soon as you grab 2 synonyms it already ends up in an unreadable mess.

      Why does this work so well? Cause the content comes from 15 different high relevant PLR articles it creates a huge relevant article with tons of LSI keywords. Google loves this LSI stuff and cause we spin whole paragraphs and only chose the best synonyms it remains extremely readable.

      The storyline itself doesn't make very much sense anymore as it jumps from 1 paragraph from 1 article to another one from another article but the grammar/spelling is okay, you get tons of keyword rich content and it's insanely diverse and relevant.

      This is about the most efficient linkbuilding technique that I use right now!

      We ranked medium competitve search terms to the first page within 2 months with a huge 120 web2.0 linkwheel in tier 1 and a dozen smaller linkwheels in tier2. In total about 700 manually made web2.0's.

  • The best part of the web 2.0 properties is they gain pagerank quickly if you write a good enough article to be featured and you do some work to make sure you lens, hub or whatever else you have is staying in the eyes of that web 2.0 community.

    These sites category pages have PR and pass that to the articles which then pass it to your website. By utilizing different categories you are actually building pretty good not so repetitive medium quality links. Also the bigger your account gets on these web 2.0 sites, the better the link from your account page can become.
