Recovered my only pre-Penguin SERP #1 keyword

I had many keywords in the top 5 and 10, but only one keyword #1, pre-Penguin. Didn't really do anything, but that keyword jumped back to #1 overnight. The site suffered huge drops and still has many keywords that aren't even ranked, but I'd say about 10% are ranked close to what they were before the Penguin update.

Hopefully that gives some hope to those that had sites that got selectively hammered on individual keywords.

      I noticed yesterday that one of my keywords has bounced back, but not all the way yet. The day after penguin it dropped to somewhere in the 200s, when it had been in the top 2 for years. Yesterday when I checked I was in position #12. Not back to where I was, but at least it's not 20 pages in where no one will ever find it!

      My daily traffic dropped from 3500 to 1K on this site. Fortunately, a lot of my keywords were still ranking, but still!

        On this site I lost 90% of my impressions and CTR. Impressions had hit a peak of 250,000 per day and dropped to about 25,000. I only had the one keyword at #1, so the overall CTR for organic traffic was only about 1% of the number impressions. I get about 2000 visitors a day from adwords, which I've continued, so the drop in overall traffic wasn't as big as the drop in organic traffic.

        that's really exciting
        I hope that happens for me too

        my site was on first page and on april the 24th, it goes on #1
        stayed 2 days than dropped suddenly to page 22
        no changes until now

        Is there something you have done, did you changed anchor text or something ?
