Best way to rank a video on google ?

Hi

What is the best way to rank a video posted on youtube and to get it to rank in google organic for your keyword searches?

This is what i have done so far, made a video lasting 4 minutes

In the description, wrote a 500 word unique article, putting main keyword at the top of the article.

What i am thinking of doing is treating the video page like it was a normal website, and say get articles linking to it , web 2.0 properties that kind of thing.

Has anyone got any ideas please or methods that work?

      hello,

      the link provided by scrapcar is really great, but want to know one thing Google only gave weightage YT.There is most of video promotion sites what about those??

        It looks like intenal links are counting more than ever, crappy sites just dont have them. You could visit all the high pr channels and leave a nice comment, a dofollow link would appear on the channel back to your channel. At one point this would have been a great way to direct pr to your website through your channel, but that doesn't work anymore.

        There is no reason why this wouldn't boost your channel, the more active you are the more you benefit, same with related videos and video responces. I suppose having a decent channel pr could help videos rank the same way it helps a high pr website rank new posts. The the main deal to ranking youtube videos on Google is backlinking them (externally), ranking them on YT involves, views, likes and comments.

        No they give credit to other video platforms but probably a little more to YT. You can have your own video player on your site like JW player and they would rank it with enough backlinks, Daily Motion and Vimeo also rank in Google.

    Search for a good keyword and select those keywords that you see youtube videos are ranking high then create a new video. Copy the tags title and description then create another video.Make the last video as a video response of that high ranking video that you've searched. Include also your URL on the description.

    Where can i find dofollow channel's link? because i have checked 20/30 channels on my niche and all were nofollow.

      Hate to disappoint you but the YT developers made the links nofollow on the last redesign, so you can't benefit with PR but that doesn't matter Google will still follow them and credit you for a good channel if you link both ways.

      My channel has got no external links and it's PR5, so it doesn't matter. A good video with links to it can flow the PR down to your channel, many of my vid pages have PR6/7

      Ranking youtube vids you need high pr links to the videos.. around 100 decent links, all anchors.

    Actually a video response is the best way to get more traffic not only from google but youtube search itself, related videos and ofcourse the video where you made your video response. I am pretty sure that having your video appearing on many other videos as a related one helps it rank better on Google and it's considered a backlink...
