most of you have noticed the new Google update.. disaster.
the update will for sure reduce the actual SERP ranking for most of webmasters.. and the funny thing is that the page rank was updates yesterday also..
her is one of my results and i am targeting a high competitive search term
my site went from Google #9 to Google #31.. and my page rank went from 3 to 4
Matt Cutts have made a real useless announcement this time and when i read it i felt like he has no idea what is Google penguin at all.
He said, "The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe are violating Google's existing quality guidelines." Nothing new here !
And he also said: "We see all sorts of webspam techniques every day, from keyword stuffing to link schemes that attempt to propel sites higher in rankings," this is the main focus.
so know what is webspam and try to avoid it ..
what we know about webspam is
1. most of the blog networks (not all most of them depend on the spinning technology they use)
2. spun articles
3. Blog posts with a lot of comments and too many backlinks
4. unrelated back links
and now google give more value to
domain
anchor text (the more variation the better)
backlinks from authority and popular sites
social talks
so if you was hit hard, bad luck, you need to start over and make it better this time, but if your ranking decreased it maybe a good news, because if you can adjust and do some good work fast you can go back to your position or even get better position
