Another keyword jumped back up post-Penguin...

I did nothing to promote it since the Penguin update, but a term that I ranked as high as #3 for pre-penguin had dropped out of the top 100, but was at 71 yesterday and jumped to #5 today.

I wish I knew the logic behind these moves so I could get my other keywords ranked again, but at least there is hope.

Have you done any onsite or offsite changes?

I've changed my on-site SEO a bit to cut down on possible over-optimization and also made some code changes to add some features. Twice in the last week I've resubmitted my sitemap to google. I don't know if any of that helped, or if they are going through keyword by keyword, programmatically to fix sites that shouldn't have penalized. I certainly hope the trend continues.

I have dedicated myself to posting and blogging on .edu sites. So far every single one of my keywords have been moving forward and wasn't hurt by the penguin what-so-ever.

try google search... Type in... Site:.edu "your keyword"
I personally like wiki .edu sites. They have been doing wonders for my keywords.
