Hey guys,

I've been using seopressor to guide me on my on-page seo. my post have a keyword density of 2% and I tend to keep my score around 80-90

With all these damn Panda updates I'm un-sure if its still a good idea to have that level of on-page seo now a day..

Any advice anyone??

With the Penguin update, we know that over optimization is a consideration. So 80-90 % is too high. You don't need h1,h1,h3 tags in all your posts. Your keyword density doesn't always have to be 2% for you to rank for your targeted terms. All of your pictures don't have to have perfect alt tags. You should vary your on-page factors from page to page because too much SEO can be a bad thing.

How have your pages responded so far?

Well I've ranked one site in just 12 days on the first page of google for it targeted keyword. With on-page seo being in the 80-90's with all pages having H1 H2 H3 tags.

So far so good I havent seen anything negative..

But yeah I've made changes to my last website had have stayed away from too much on-page seo. Making it look very natural and not all pages have pictures with tags or on page links.

  • I would forget about the keyword density, but make sure that I use words that are related to my main keywords. This usually happens naturally when we write, but I would look at the keyword tool to see which words the search engines find to also be related and make sure I include those. I would also do the same with the links I build. Try to use synonyms. They are a determining factor in search results and can be seen as less spammy.
