Hi guys, quick question. Say i have the www.mysite.com would you purchase all the domains such as .co.uk/.info/.org and do a 301 to your main .com?

If you do does it help at all or do you just use it to stop others purchasing the same domains

Regards ~

I'd tend to suggest purchasing the obvious ones, yes. It doesn't help with SEO, but does stop people registering the other obvious ones (.net, .biz, etc) and causing brand confusion.

If you wanted to protect your brand I'd personally purchase the .co.uk, .com, .net, .org but no others.

It won't help your SEO as "IM Gourmet" pointed out but it will just provide a little more protection against misuse of your name or domain squatters.

If your site is more valuable and in future you have great plan to earn from your site then I would advise that register all top extensions it would be good.

Don't let others to register those extension as they may get benefit from your brand name.
