What is the difference between what we are doing and blogging?
They both are trying to make posts that rank well to have large audiences, and they both are trying to get users to do certain actions.

Your question is small but the answer can be very long. Forums and blogs both fulfill the purpose of discussing and sharing information but blogs are most modern form of discussion forms.

You can do much more for seo with blogs but can't do with forums. There is a large number of plugins available for blogs for various purposes but almost nothing for forum as compare to plugins for wordpress.

Difference is you can't do many thinks at once in blog like forum, suppose moderating option is available for forum but not in blog, you also have vast programs available for forum only but they are hardly seen in a blog, Blog means personal whereas forum is full dynamic.
