So the site im working on is about 18 months old. The weird thing is that it keps popping in and out of the search engines. If I add new links to it,it just vanishes. Kinda making me wonder... should this site b doing this? I have purchased some high pr homepage links for it now

Do you mean ur webpage has been deindexed ? or just google dance...should add new links slowly I guess (search link velocity).

All this means is google is revaluating your site, just keep slowly adding new links pointing to your site. eventually google will position your site and increase your serp rankings.

Another thing to consider is that things are still a little weird from the last Google update.

There's a new site on the first page for my keyword that is the emd but has been expired for a few months now.

Absolutely. Especially if you're starting to add new content and throw backlinks @ it. It's going to dance around a bit no matter how old it is.

Thanks for replies fellas. Yeh the site i still indexed. No crawl issues etc. No problems as far as Im aware. Just been hitting it with 50/100 high pr links a day this week. Going to start wikibacklinks, web 2.0,articles etc next week for it. Iv purchased some high PR HPBL for it and it just dissapeared. I hope it dosent do thsi everything I add links. What if when I get to number 1 I keep adding links and vanishing, the site wont have a steady income

Yeh as in vanished entirely. Not in the first 1000 results of google. Another thing to note on this site although it is 18months old the structure of the site was terrible as the guy before me had no idea of SEO or anything. There were no links to it. I started building links since February and will be doing a large campaign starting this week Thursday with an indepth analysis of EVERYTHING

Allsytems, this is way too much dude. 50-100 high PR links a day

Unless you have an aged, authority site with thousands of natural links to dilute down that force, there's no way the site will take that.

Yeh I mean I am going to do more natural looking links soon. The problem is I dont get time to do a proper campaign like say over a week where I plan exatly what I will do. I know I get make the SERPs jump a lot with just a single campaign. On another note. Site is back even lower

If you have been building back link right from the start you shouldn't be dan ing. It also depends on the type of links you are using, your site could be undergoing one of the effects of google update.

Age has no correlation to authority. Typically, authority sites don't dance. Your site is dancing, thus safe to assume your site is not an authority.

Would be interesting to see what actually happens with this site, usually a dance will go 3/4 days and then come back and may disappear again for up to 2 weeks so you'll need to wait and find out but I would go easy on the high PR links.. You need a good mixture of high PR, some contextual PR0, some bookmarks all with varying anchor.

Like Mike Grant has said you site is dancing so it's not an authority, you can throw hardcore backlinks at a well estabilished site and it will move up slowly. You never know it need be a sign of good rankings. I would say that Google is starting to trust it's own pagerank algo less so you need to be careful..

    Hello!

Maybe it's just Google dance or some updating. So, just add links slowly, one at a time. Though, if you do this, you must add extremely unique and important topics so your visitors wouldn't get tired of seeing the same stuff on your site. Even if your site is a year old, it can still experience this kind of situation.

    Best of Luck!
