yes but article links are among the lowest quality out there and if those are hte only links you have eventually you may incur a penalty

here is a link to my thread about my linking process it is alot more powerful than article links

Like dracoboar said, Ezine links aren't bad but you need to diversify your linkbuilding, especially after Penguin.

Article links from popular article sites looks unnatural to google. try to post your article on other web2.0 sites with link back to yours.

I know what you are talking about doing and I have done a test with it. I only have seen it benefits in silly situations like reputation management. When I did it for rankings of a real keyword, solely it did not help.

However if you used it alongside another backlinking campaign it may help but I doubt it would be worth it. Also as said before if the blogger has some sort of standing with Google it could help to pass juice but you would be better off spending some time writing a brand new article that is unique to the domain. It would be a higher quality backlink.

Surely it does but do not rely with it. Try some link wheels with it and see if does any help. So far before the google updates, it had help me. I'm still not sure how this was affected with the new update.

    Hello!

You should do backlinks. Backlinking is helpful for new sites. You should also do SEO stuff like blogging, social bookmarking, posting in forums, creating articles and write-ups and best of all, use social network.

    Best of Luck to you!
